RTF teams quickly stabilize and evacuate casualties, being subordinate to special unit operators who provide protection (3). The task of RTF teams is not to substitute operator-medics from counter-terrorist units, but to support them whenever help is necessary. According to authors’ concept an RTF team comprises of operators and civilian medics (paramedics, physicians) in at least 2:1 ratio. Tasks within the team need to be clear, and procedures obvious for each member. The role of counter-terrorist unit operators (in Poland: Ministry of National Defense and Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration) being a part of RTF is escorting civilian medics safely to the zone where the casualties are, securing their action therein and care of team’s safe withdrawal from the zone. The role of civilian personnel within the RTF team is obeying commander’s orders, providing medical aid to terrorist attack victims and evacuating them if necessary.
